Priddis Green Charity Classic

In 1999, Bill and Diane, amongst a few friends and business associates, started a two day charity golf tournament. With little awareness at that time about prostate cancer, we were pleased to contribute the proceeds of the tournament to them and help make a difference in the community.
The first two years were held at GlenEagles Golf Course in Cochrane however, due to the demand to play in this tournament, it was moved to Priddis Greens Charity Classic to accommodate more golfers.

The members of the Priddis Greens Golf and Country Club now run the tournament and over $3 million dollars has been raised for prostate cancer.  This tournament and charity is very close to our hearts and we continue to support this annual tournament.

Willow Park Charity Classic

Since its inception in 1987, this two day tournament has raised millions for various worthy charities.  Applications are taken from charities on an annual basis and after a screening process, a charity is selected that will receive the funds.  Beattie Homes has supported this tournament for many years through sponsorship, auctions and playing in it.  Again, it is a very soothe after tournament with a waiting list of players.

Spruce Meadows

We all love to watch the elite equestrian riders as they become one with their horse in jumping incredible jumps.  To become a star, it requires a lot of practice, dedication and support.   Spruce Meadows has created an amazing facility for the community and equestrian riders and Beattie Homes is proud to be a sponsor and associated with such a wonderful group.

Shave Your Lid

On March 7, 2008, an amazing event happened where friends, family and business associates joined together to support Bill as he battled leukemia.  67 people obtained sponsorship and had their heads shaved to raise money.  Those proceeds as well as from a silent and live auction raised over $640,000 in one afternoon.  $275,000 went to Kid’s Cancer and the other $365,000 started the Bill Beattie Memorial Endowment Fund.  It was amazing to see how a community came together to support our cause.

Hitman

All small children, whether boy or girl, loves hockey.  Beattie was proud to sponsor and participate in a fundraising campaign with the Calgary Hitman and Breast Cancer Foundation.  This campaign allowed children to enter contest for the opportunity to skate and play with the Hitman.  In addition, over $20,000 was raised and donated to breast cancer.
