In the continued effort to reduce the world’s carbon footprint, Beattie Homes has worked with trades and suppliers to incorporate green products & procedures. Together we’ve developed what will become a growing list of items below for your review. Should you have any questions regarding the items beneath, please contact our helpful Area Managers.
Beattie Homes “green” elements include:
- Proud member of Build Green Alberta
- Engineered wood products such as laminated beams, floor joints, and oriented strand board that are manufactured with fast-growing, renewable timber
- R30 blown cellulose attic insulation to conserve energy
- House wrap and air-sealing to reduce air infiltration and reduce energy use
- Low-flow plumbing fixtures & dual flush toilets to conserve water
- High-performance SOL-R Shield windows with low E glass for reduced energy use
- 91.2% efficient furnaces to reduce the use of fossil fuels
- Eco friendly 75 gallon hot water tank systems
- Programmable Thermostat
- Recycle and reuse unused and scrap wood products

Project Green
2010 will see Beattie Homes research and construct a home in Calgary to display the latest green and energy saving products on the market. Unlike a traditional showhome, this home will be built to showcase mechanical systems, new heat loss prevention methods and the latest green hard surface materials.
